The Ministry of Health has signed a landmark agreement with all 47 county governments to accelerate the digitization of Kenya’s public health system.

Under the deal, 74,000 digital devices will be distributed to health facilities across the country to support the rollout of key innovations, including electronic health records, telemedicine, and emergency response platforms.
The initiative will also involve extensive staff training to ensure smooth adoption and efficient use of the new technology.
The agreement marks a significant step in the government’s broader e-health strategy aimed at enhancing service delivery, improving data management, and increasing access to healthcare, especially in remote and underserved areas.
This public-private partnership is poised to reshape Kenya’s healthcare landscape by integrating digital infrastructure into primary and emergency health services, in line with the national digital transformation agenda.
